Frontline Daily Devotion - Day 15 - Hold Your Cup Out
JOHN 4:11 --"Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with."
How many times have we wondered just how the Lord was going to help us? We don't just ask, we challenge Him, "How, when, where, and why?" We don't see a way out of our predicament, and therefore we have trouble believing there is a way out. "Lord, just how are you going to help me?" All Jesus had was a pillow in the midst of the storm. He certainly didn't need the pillow, but He stopped the storm with simply a command. He had no money for taxes, but directed a disciple to go get a fish. The fish had the tax money. Again, a spoken word of command. "Master, thousands need to be fed, but we have nothing but a few fish sandwiches." Jesus said, "bring them to me." Jesus doesn't need anything to answer your greatest, deepest need. If He has nothing in his hands, He speaks the Word, and circumstances change. If you give what you've got in your hand, He can multiply it a thousand-fold, and make what you gave Him stretch in ways you could not even imagine. When you've got nothing to show for all your hard work, ask Him what to do. He might tell you to go and repeat something you've already done, without any result. But the net came up full and the leper came up clean. The difference was a word from Jesus. Give me the cake, and there was cake for three years. Bring me an empty vessel, and they were all full. Keep bringing your needs to the Lord, He never runs out. All He needs from you is enough FAITH to hold the miracle. Is your cup ready to be filled?
