Day 18 - Wisdom Calling

Frontline Daily Devotion - Day 18 - Wisdom Calling

PROV 8:3: Wisdom --"She cries at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors."

Wisdom is positioned at the place of going in. While you are outside, you can examine, and study, and question. You can not do that once you go in. Wisdom talks to you before you make the deal, before you utter the vow, or before you accept the invitation to enter. Wisdom was there at the point of decision; wisdom was there to help you make a good decision. Wisdom is like a watchman. The world may say, "Don't worry, it's harmless, everyone's doing it, come on and try it."  But wisdom cries even louder, not by saying, "NO," but by making you validate the truth. Wisdom is God's lie detector. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." I must compare my knowledge and understanding of God with the consequences of my impending actions. Wisdom eliminates my ability to say, "I didn't know, I didn't mean it, or it was only an accident." Wisdom says to me, "I was standing there shouting at you to WATCH OUT!" My response to wisdom determines my level of wisdom. Either I respond wisely, or I respond unwisely. My mistakes are usually a result of a failure to fear God and listen to and for His warnings. His warnings come to me in the form of wisdom. My failures will be the result of my lack of wisdom. Wisdom is the principle thing. Heed it!

"One body and one Spirit: as you are called in one hope of your calling." Ephesians 4:4
