Frontline Daily Devotion - Day 26 - Keeping The Faith
MARK 11:22 -- "Have faith in God."
The simplicity of this statement can cause me to overlook some simple truths. It is possible to have faith in someone or something other than God. There have been times when I relied on people --friends, family, business associates, or even myself. There have been other times in my life when I put my faith in my training, skill, education, or experience. I might also have considered agreements or contracts as the source of confidence. In all these cases, sooner or later, each proved unreliable. You (the understood subject) are commanded to "have faith in God." No one else will do. Or I could say, "that in God, you have faith." In other words, there is already faith available to me in God. So I need to get into God. Better yet, I need to get God into me. Where is God? God is in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. When I believe in Jesus, then God is in me. "Christ in me, the hope of glory!" Therefore, I already have faith. Just how can this be? Remember, "God has given to every man the measure of faith." Okay. Then how much faith do I have and how much faith do I need? Here's the good news -- "If you have faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed, you can tell this mountain to removed and cast into the sea, and it will removed." As a matter of fact, I DO HAVE FAITH…I DO HAVE FAITH IN GOD….AND I HAVE GOD'S FAITH. Amen! Therefore, nothing shall be impossible to him that believes. Praise God! I live my life according to the faith of the Son of God.
