Frontline Daily Devotion - Day 30 - Supersize Me
MARK 8:19 -- "When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve."
Jesus asked them if they had forgotten the miracle of the loaves and fishes. He asked them how many baskets of fragments that they took up. They knew the answer to the question. If I take a few minutes, I can probably recall many times that the Lord has blessed me and answered my prayers or supernaturally met my need. Are they fresh memories, or have they become another "past" experience with Jesus? When faced with new trials, tribulations, temptations, tests, and troubles, do I immediately worry, or do I go back and review the goodness and faithfulness of God? When Moses asked the Lord to show him His glory, Moses only saw the hindmost parts. The Lord did not show Him how He would deliver the nation of Israel. The Lord did not show Moses how He would defeat their enemies. But the Lord did show Him the glory of the Lord in the affairs of men, beginning with Adam, and finishing with Moses hidden in the cleft of the rock. The Lord displayed for Moses what the Lord had already done. Our confidence must always and only be, in the Lord. Our circumstances don't surprise Him, and they certainly don't challenge Him. Therefore, no matter what I am facing today, whether it is a lack of resources, or a seemingly impassable obstacle, or even an incurable disease, my trust is in God! The answer may come in the future, but my faith is established by reviewing what the Lord has done for me in the past. Over, and over, and over again! Remember! But there is one more powerful message here: when the Lord answers my need, there will be more than enough to meet the need, as well as bless you indeed.
