Frontline Daily Devotion - Day 5 - Do You See What I see
Ecclesiastes 3:11 - "God has made everything beautiful in his time."
In Genesis, the Bible declares that God saw everything that He had made, and that it was very good. That was before the Fall of man, and now we understand that the entire creation groans and travails together. But this beautiful Scripture reminds us that even after the fall of man, our God has retained the beauty in every thing, even if it only temporary. A splash, a flash, a twinkling, a glimpse, a momentary beauty revealed in its time. The flower blooms and then fades away. The most barren of wildernesses still retains tremendous beauty in its stillness and quiet. The jagged beaches of the Pacific Northwest roar with the power of God as the waves crash over the rocks. The beautiful young lady becomes the bent and withered old woman. God can not lie. This means that everything, no matter what I may see, has its moment of beauty. Am I watching to see the beauty in everything around me? Am I limiting the beauty in things by relying only on my sight, or do I listen, taste, touch, feel, hear, smell, and perceive God in the world around me? Am I only seeing the fall, or do I look for the beauty? Jesus on the cross, His countenance marred by my sin, is completely beautiful in His love and faithfulness. So beautiful, that God is revealed in every moment of his human life, and in every moment of His eternal existence.
