It is time to get moving. What is hindering me? Perhaps it is because of my position. In order to be going, I must change my position. The opposite of rise is sit or lie. Am I lying down or sitting down on the job? Obviously, someone is compelling me. Someone is urging me on. Someone is saying "You can make, because you are not alone. I will never leave you, nor forsake you." That someone is Jesus. That someone is the Lord Himself. Maybe I was resting, and He has now refreshed me. Maybe I had been sound asleep, while He watched over me. Maybe I had been knocked down, and He was calling me up, and back into the fight. Maybe I was discouraged, and He gave me encouragement right when I needed it. This verse also implies there is a place I am going to. There is purpose in my rising and in my going. There is purpose in everything I do for Him. He points the way. He directs my steps, He lights up my path. He leads me and guides me. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We are going somewhere together; Jesus and me. We are doing something together; Jesus and me. Yes, I'm gonna make it; Jesus and me!
