THE POWER OF JOY
Joy is the secret weapon of the Christian. The keeping power of the blood…the special anointing that keep the Christian going forward through thick and thin.
· JOY PRODUCES MANY WONDERFUL BENEFITS:
- Joy gives us the ability to endure – “for the JOY that was set before Him, Jesus endured the agony of the cross” (HEB 12:12)
- Joy gives us strength – “the joy of the Lord is my strength.” (NEH 8:10)
- Joy in us gives glory to God – “joy unspeakable, full of glory.” (1Pet 1:8)
- Joy is the will of God for you – “joy by the will of God” (ROM 15:32)
- Joy causes me to finish what I started – “finished my course with joy” (Acts 20:24)
- JOY IS AN ACTIVE CONDITION:
- Joy comes – “joy cometh in the morning.” (PS 30:5)
- Joy fills you – “that your joy might be full” (1 JN 1:4)
- Joy remains – “that your joy might remain” it never leaves you (JN 15:11)
- Joy is abundant – “the abundance of their joy” (2 COR 8:2) more than enough
- Joy can’t be taken away – “your joy no man taketh” (JN 16:22))
- JOY IS THE HIDDEN (VISIBLE) POWER OF CHRISTIANS:
- Joy can be seen – “great joy on your countenance” (ACTS 2:28)
- Joy can be shared – “Caused great joy unto all” (ACTS 15:3)
- Joy can be spoken – “shout for joy” (PS 65:13
- Joy when the word is preached “received the word with joy” (LK 8:13)
- JOY OVERPOWERS NEGATIVE FEELINGS:
1. Mourning turns to joy (JER 31:13)
2. Temptation turns to joy (JAM 1:2)
3. Tears turn to joy (PS 126:5)
4. Sorrow turns to joy (JN 16:20)
