2005 THEME:  IT”S TIME TO PRAY BECAUSE IT’S TIME TO CHANGE

“IT’S TIME TO CHANGE, IT’S TIME TO PRAY –

BECAUSE PRAYER CHANGES THINGS”

I.  God uses the Word of God as the instrument for CHANGE in your life:

ð       The Bible is a book about change

ð       The Bible provides hope for change

ð       The Bible provides the keys to change

ð       The Bible provides proof of change

ð       The Bible provides examples of change

II. Here are some well-known Bible examples:

ð       People can change – Saul was a tormenter of the church who became Paul, an Apostle and Evangelist

ð       Your circumstances can change – Joseph went from the pit to the prison to the palace

ð       Your finances can change – the widow of Zarephath was poor until the prophet gave her a living Word. What she released from her hand caused a release of what was in God’s hand!

ð       Your physical conditions can change – the woman with the issue of blood was healed when she touched the hem of His garment

ð       Your sinful nature can change – Isaiah saw himself when he saw the Lord and a hot coal was placed on his lips and he was forgiven

ð       The way you see things can change – your view of authority, your view of children, your view of your spouse, your view of work, your view of the future

III. The Key Areas of Change will produce results:

ð       Change the way you think –

·        “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”(Prov 23:7)

·        Are you a grasshopper or a giant killer?

ð       Change what you believe –

·        “the devil believes and he trembles,”

·        Do you believe? -- “Yes, Lord, help thou mine unbelief”(Mk 9:24)

ð       Change what you say –

·        “Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth…”

·        “Life and death are in the tongue”(Prov 18:21)

·        “If you say to this mountain…..(Mk 11:23)”

·         What do you say about yourself? Others? God?

ð       Change what you do – “Grow not weary in well-doing”

·        Read & study the Bible (2 TIM 2:15)

·        Pray without ceasing (1 THESS 5:17)

·        Give and it shall be given unto you (LK 6:38)

·        Testify (REV 12:11)Be instant in season and out (2 Tim 4:2)

·        Assemble in the House of the Lord (Heb 10:25)

IV.  What if you are unwilling to change?

ð       Jezebel

ð       Ahab

ð       Saul

ð       Korah

ð       Israel

V. Conclusion

When they came to Him in the Gospels, they received:

·        Repentance

·        Salvation

·        Healing

·        Deliverance

·        Multitudes were fed

·        They received VICTORY over the enemy

How do we come to Jesus today??

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
